Quadrant Design's approach to master planning and urban design incorporates flexibility and adaptability. It is important to set a framework for future detailed design and development, with the principle in mind that a client's (and a community's) needs are ever-changing. We work closely with municipalities, taxing districts, property developers, churches, schools, and businesses to help them logically plan their built future.
In 2005, AIA Southern Illinois recognized the Kaskaskia Riverfront Development Plan prepared by Quadrant Design and the Village of Evansville with a Design Award of Merit.
Quadrant's efforts in assisting the Village of Valmeyer rebuild after the floods of 1993 were published in Inland Architect magazine and local newspapers.
Mike Schneider recently joined residents, government officials, planners, environmentalists, and others from across the country at a two-day community design charrette in response to repeated flooding along the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers near Olive Branch, Illinois. The charrette was organized by SIU-Carbondale and funded by FEMA and the Walton Foundation.
